Meet the Teacher

"She is a natural and gifted teacher. From our first meeting I sensed her wisdom, compassion, and enthusiasm for the vital work of teaching young people."
Paula Kruger - Owner/Teacher

I started my teaching profession in Calgary in 2005, after immigrating to Canada with my husband and two boys in 2002. I am excited about sharing my love for Early Childhood Development in my unique home based preschool environment which was founded in September 2017 and offers an individualized experience for your preschooler to learn in a safe and loving environment.

My teaching journey in Calgary started at a Montessori Preschool where I was the director, administrator and teacher for 7 years.

During my practicums for my Early Childhood Diplomas I experienced firsthand, the level of empowerment the philosophy of learning through play offers children.  I always knew that even though I saw many benefits of Montessori Education, my dream was to work at a centre which offered play based preschool programs. I had the opportunity to manage and teach at a play-based centre in Calgary for 5 years, before starting my unique home-based preschool.

I hold a degree in marketing from the University of South Africa, two diplomas in early childhood education (3 years), and an International Montessori Teaching qualification. I also have my Alberta Child Care Certification, Canadian Red Cross Standard Child Care First Aid with CPR/AED, and my Calgary Police Service Clearance.

My passion is working with young children and taking the time and initiative to plan in their best interests. It is so inspiring to watch the children in action in the classroom and facilitate and observe each child as they learn new concepts and skills and develop confidence in their abilities.

As a dedicated Early Childhood Educator, I always strive to:

  • Be devoted to every child’s social, emotional and intellectual growth.

  • Give each child a sense of belonging, accomplishment and self-worth.

  • Create an educational, fun and positive atmosphere.

  • Understand the needs of both children and their parents.

  • Foster positive attitudes towards learning
